Connor Shafran is a classically-trained percussionist, contemporary electronic composer, and audio engineer. For over ten years, he’s been performing and releasing his own music, composing for others, mixing live concerts, designing audio plugins, and helping other artists design and program their live electronic setups.

Since moving to Cologne, Germany in 2018, Connor has released a number of technically and musically intricate live-looping videos for handpan and electronics that have garnered the attention and praise of Ableton, Thomann, Meridian Handpans, Rachel K. Collier, Beardyman, Binkbeats, Kumea Sound and more. From 2021 through 2023, he performed this music for audiences across Germany, Austria, England, Spain, and the Netherlands.

In 2023, Connor graduated with a Master’s Degree in Electroacoustic Music from the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin with a thesis on a newfound method for using Ableton Live and Max/MSP to compose scripted-looping-style electroacoustic compositions.

Since 2024, he’s been working as an audio technician at the German National Public Radio (Deutschlandfunk), working with journalists to record and mix their podcasts and radio features. More recently, Connor has started building his own custom MIDI-Controllers and has also joined krakelee e.G., a collective that’s attempting to open Cologne’s first co-op-financed techno club.
